My friend recently got a job as a night-shift janitor at a prep school here in Quebec. His first clean up was a condom drowned in a pool of coffee. I also walk through this prep school every day on the way to class and theres always cans, bottles, styrofoam take out containers, etc. all over the lawns. Sometimes I get so disgusted I start picking this shit up while loudly lamenting how disgusting the whole scene is :)

I hope the younguns get embarassed when they see me picking up their garbage but they probably just think I am some crazy hippie.

As far as I can tell, mindlessly leaving a trail of trash behind you wherever you is an All-Canadian past-time as well.

As for the show, listening right now and I'm not quite sure what Bob is up to at the end of Candyman... he's barking something incoherent...

I too will pick up stuff at the beach and in parks. It especially infuriates me when people do it in such nice settings where you can see trash cans within sight. I'm also the guy that will say "hey, you dropped this" and give someone back their dropped cup, wrapper, etc.

Yep, I'm not only a jerk on the forum, but in real life as well.

"Hey buddy! That MBZ S Class didn't come w/ an ashtray?!?!"

Feel free to use this line on any jerk who feels that the world is his ashtray.

BTW, this thread reminds me of Alice's Restaurant.

FYI, when I met Sara Lee (Arlo's daughter), I asked her if she was tired of pickles. (I also asked her to admit that she couldn't listen to a Pete Seeger tune all the way through). She said dad's chrismtas tree is full of pickle ornaments given to him by folks over the years....

I just wanna ride...

Ed Abbey always said you should just throw your trash out the kitchen window...

Ed Abbey gave the best-ever description of a great Dark Star, without even trying.

Edward Abbey's Benediction

"Benedicto: May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. May your rivers flow without end, meandering through pastoral valleys tinkling with bells, past temples and castles and poets' towers into a dark primeval forest where tigers belch and monkeys howl, through miasmal and mysterious swamps and down into a desert of red rock, blue mesas, domes and pinnacles and grottos of endless stone, and down again into a deep vast ancient unknown chasm where bars of sunlight blaze on profiled cliffs, where deer walk across the white sand beaches, where storms come and go as lightning clangs upon the high crags, where something strange and more beautiful and more full of wonder than your deepest dreams waits for you beyond the next turning of the canyon walls.

That's a good one...used to see him out here regularly in the 70s giving talks...always had a tall Coors in a brown bag at the podium and his lectures were punctuated by the "creek--PUSHSSIT--pop!" every now and again...

Loved him.
